Vision and Values
Our Mission and Vision
In setting and championing our vision, ethos, and strategy, it is useful to be reminded of our overriding mission and the principles underpinning all governance considerations. Across all our layers of ONE Trust leadership, we are mindful of the collective mission strapline and vision statement:
ONE Trust, One Vision, Ambition for All
‘To build a shared learning community in which children, young people, staff and parents discover their talents, realise their potential, and develop a passion for learning that endures throughout their lives.’
The role of the Trustee Board, its committees, and Local Governing Bodies (LGBs) are key to this vision and in defining and implementing strategy to achieve our key aims.
Our Aims
We are cognisant that in the strategic framework of the ONE Trust, each individual school (supported by their Local Governing Body) retains its own ethos and characteristics, which are respected as part of their unique contribution to achieve the following key aims:
- Cutting-edge school improvement system
- High quality, inclusive education
- Strategic and expert governance
- Effective and efficient operations
- Workforce development and well-being
These aims will be achieved by holding the leaders of schools and the Trust to account. We believe that this is the foundation of excellence in education. We also want all stakeholders to be assured that the Trustee Board is governing in a highly effective manner. Those responsible for governance will work together to bring their skills and experience to their roles. They will challenge and support expertly, to hold the workforce to account to achieve improved outcomes for our pupils.
Our Values
Within the challenge and support process, we will all embrace the ONE Trust values which underpin all our work together:
- Trust and Mutuality
- Collaboration and Commitment
- Development and Empowerment
Every decision made across the trust will be informed by these values and we will champion them in all our work.
